Settings
Open Settings with ⌘ ,. It replaces the main window until you leave with Back to app or Esc. It opens on Agents, or on Devices if you arrived from a pairing invitation.
Some settings are stored by the daemon and apply to every connected device. Others stay on the device you set them on. Each pane says which.
Sections
Section titled “Sections”| Section | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Agents | Per agent: sign-in connections, session defaults (model, thinking, context, speed), history import from the agent’s own store, how long the agent keeps its native history, the model used for summaries and titles, older “legacy” models to add to the picker, and launch environment variables. A subsection appears only if at least one agent supports it. |
| General | What opens at launch, how chat history renders, how the session list is grouped and filtered, which project and agent new tasks suggest, attachment size and count limits, and product analytics on or off. |
| Projects & New Tasks | Per-project overrides: the suggested agent and the session defaults that future sessions in that project start with. |
| Chat & Composer | Whether sending while a turn runs queues or steers (per agent), spelling and grammar assistance, and local prompt history. |
| Keyboard Shortcuts | The full shortcut list. See Keyboard shortcuts. |
| Files & Diffs | How diffs are drawn on this device: open or collapsed by default, fixed or full height, stacked or list-beside-diff layout, unified or split, line wrapping, and code theme. |
| Activity | Live load on the machine running the daemon: responsiveness, CPU and memory, and active and waiting work. Sampling runs only while the pane is open. |
| Usage | Tokens, cost, and plan limits across agents, context use for the current session, and relay usage for the month, depending on what the daemon reports. |
| Devices | Remote access route (Pix relay or Tailscale), pairing a phone by QR code, connecting to another Mac with an invitation link, creating an invitation so another Mac can control this one, and the list of connected devices with revoke. See Pairing and remote access. |
| Previews | In-development features you can switch on for a daemon. Not shown in production builds. |
| Debug | Inspect or stop verified daemon processes on this Mac. Shown only in development builds of the Mac app. |
| Support Pix | An optional tip link (Ko-fi). Shown only in the desktop app. It does not unlock anything. |
| About | Client and daemon versions, build IDs, source revision, release channel, protocol version, open-source licenses, and updates for this Mac or a connected host. |
Details worth knowing
Section titled “Details worth knowing”General
- On launch: open the last session, the session list, or a new task.
- Agent activity: Verbose shows live progress and tool details. Edit-only keeps edits visible and groups other activity. This choice applies to every connected client.
- Progressive history rendering: show a conversation while the rest of its history loads. Device-local.
- Session list: list type (Flat, By project, and Project catalog where supported), the remembered filter (All, Running, Needs you, Archived, Todo), Hide resolved, and Hide Todos. Device-local.
- New tasks: project behaviour (Always ask, Last used, Fixed), Always use a worktree where supported, and Suggested agent. Every new task still asks you to confirm the agent and project.
- Attachments: largest file allowed and maximum files per prompt.
- Privacy & analytics: the product analytics switch. See Analytics and privacy.
Chat & Composer
- While busy: Queue or Steer per agent. Steer appears only for agents that support steering. Stored by the daemon, so it follows you across devices.
- Spelling and grammar: off by default, device-local.
- Remember recent prompts: off by default. When on, recall with ↑. Stays on this device and is never sent to the daemon. Clear forgets the stored prompts.
About → Updates
- This Mac: checks the installed build’s release channel and downloads the update. If sessions are active, the button reads Update after sessions and the install waits until they finish.
- Connected host: when you are connected to another Mac or a Linux daemon, you can update that host from here. A Linux daemon updates its runtime and reconnects clients; the desktop package itself stays managed by your package manager.
