Slash commands and references
The composer reads three prefixes:
/at the start of the message opens commands.@opens a file search.#opens a session search.
The parsing is shared code, so every client treats these the same way. In each menu, use the arrow keys to move, and Tab or Enter to pick.
Outside a text field, pressing / focuses the composer.
/ commands
Section titled “/ commands”Type / as the first character. The menu lists Weaver‘s own commands first, then the agent’s. Keep typing to filter. Aliases match too.
A command only counts at the very start of the message and must end at a space. A message that starts with a path like /Users/me/x stays plain text.
Commands need an open session. Without one, Weaver tells you to open a session first.
Weaver commands
Section titled “Weaver commands”These work the same with every agent. When an agent has a command with the same name, the Weaver command wins.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/help | List Weaver commands and the agent’s commands. |
/new | Start a new task. You pick the agent and project. |
/rename <title> | Rename the session. Without a title, opens the title for editing. |
/done | Mark the session done. |
/archive | Archive the session. |
/status | Show the daemon connection, session state, agent, model, project, workspace and worktree. |
/files | Open the Files tab in the inspector. |
/models (/model) | Open the model picker. |
/settings | Open Settings. |
/export | Export the transcript as Markdown. |
/pix-feedback [description] (/feedback, /bug, /bug-report) | Send a bug report or feature request. See Analytics and privacy for what it uploads. |
/compact [focus] | Run the agent’s own context compaction. Works only when the agent lists a native /compact. |
/cancel | Cancel the running turn. |
/steer <text> | Send text into the running turn. Needs an agent that supports steering. |
/follow-up <text> (/followup) | Queue text to send when the running turn ends. |
/worktree | Switch the inspector between the project checkout and the session’s worktree. |
/diff | Open the Changes tab. |
/terminal | Open the Terminal tab. |
/mcp | Show MCP servers and manage them. Listed only for agents with MCP management (Claude Code, Codex). |
/login | Show the agent’s login status. After an auth error with one fix available, starts that fix. |
/logout | Log out of the agent, after you confirm. |
Agent commands
Section titled “Agent commands”Everything else in the menu comes from the agent. Weaver sends the command to the agent as your message. The list depends on the agent and on the project:
- Claude Code. Whatever Claude Code reports for the session’s folder: your user commands and skills from
~/.claude, the project’s.claude/commandsand.claude/skills, and plugin commands the project turns on. - Codex.
/compact. - Pi. Commands from Pi’s global extensions and prompts. Project-local Pi resources that can run code are not loaded.
- Cursor. Skills found in
.agents/skills,.cursor/skills,.claude/skillsand.codex/skills, in the project and in your home folder, plus Cursor’s built-in skills such as/review,/loopand/shell.
Weaver looks up commands in the folder the session runs in, which is the worktree when the session has one. If the lookup fails, /help shows the error.
@ files
Section titled “@ files”Type @ and part of a path. Weaver searches the session’s folder and lists up to 200 matching paths. Matching is a case-insensitive substring match on the path.
- In a git repository, the list comes from
git ls-files, so anything in.gitignorenever shows up. Untracked files that are not ignored do show up. - Outside git, Weaver walks the folder, applies the root
.gitignoreand skips dotfiles.
When you pick a file, the composer shows a short @name. On send, Weaver expands it to the full relative path, so the agent sees @packages/agents/src/claude.ts. If two picked files share a name, the second one keeps its full path in the composer so you can tell them apart.
A mention you type by hand without picking it from the menu goes to the agent as you typed it.
When the daemon runs on the same computer, dropping a folder from your desktop into the composer adds it as an @ mention. Some dropped files are added the same way when the agent takes them by path.
An @ mention tells the agent where to look. It does not upload the file. To send the file’s bytes, attach it instead.
# sessions
Section titled “# sessions”Type # and words from another session’s title. Weaver searches your sessions and shows up to 10 matches. Pick one and the composer inserts #[Agent · Title].
On send, the daemon takes a snapshot of that session’s conversation and gives it to the agent with your message. The agent receives a brief of the referenced session up front. If the full snapshot is longer than the brief, agents that have the Weaver session tool can read the rest.
- The referenced session can use any agent. You can reference a Codex session from a Claude Code session.
- The snapshot is fixed at send time. Later turns in the referenced session do not change it.
- If you edit the
#[...]text after picking it, it turns back into plain text and nothing is attached. - When you view sessions from more than one machine, the label adds the machine name and the snapshot travels from that machine.
Attachments
Section titled “Attachments”Attach images, files and video with the composer’s attach button or by dropping them in. What each agent accepts is in Agents. Images go to the agent directly. Other files and video are saved on the host, and the agent gets the path.
Limits are in Settings → General → Attachments. New installs allow up to 100 MB per file and 20 files per message.
